Everything You Need to Know about Healthcare Administration

The most visible professionals in hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities are doctors and nurses. Behind the scenes, making sure that things run smoothly, is the hospital administrator.

Most people are not aware that these professionals exist. Their main job is to provide the right setting for doctors and nurses to treat patients. Without them, basic functions such as accounting, purchasing and supplies, logistics and even cleaning and hygiene would come to a halt.

Healthcare administrators, also referred to as healthcare managers, are in charge of all the background operations. If you are looking for a career in healthcare that doesn’t put you in direct contact with patients, hospital administration is a good choice.

An online MBA in healthcare administration can take you to the top of the ladder, and you will be in charge of policy decisions that impact hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and even public health policy.

As you consider your MBA options, remember that online degrees are not for everyone. Text-Based Education Reform has an excellent post on who should and shouldn’t pursue online courses.

Why healthcare administration?

Many young people ignore this career option either because they do not know it exists, or because they do not think it offers good opportunities.

According to a report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field is expected to grow by about 28% with more than 480,700 new jobs in the next decade.

Other trends highlight the need for more hospital administrators in the coming years. The healthcare industry is growing rapidly. It is the biggest employer in the US, with more than 18 million people. It is expected that there will be about 2.5 million new jobs in healthcare by 2031.

The sector has grown so fast because more and more people need healthcare every … Continue reading >>>

Executive Training: Increase Student Achievement and Avoid High Leadership Turnover with Head Training

Executive Training: Increase Student Achievement and Avoid High Leadership Turnover with Head Training

Executive coaching for school leaders increases student achievement and learning by helping school leaders become more successful, implementing change in their schools and lasting long enough to ensure that constructive change actually occurs. Without forward movement, the school will retreat. Given the state of many schools, withdrawing is a disaster. In any school, no matter how good it is, change is very important for learning, which is a matter of school home.

School CEOs – principals, directors, executive directors – have complex jobs and many demands.

In the end, they are responsible for all aspects of school operations. From student achievement and curriculum to finance and facilities, the principal is responsible. That’s where the responsibility stops, regardless of school resources or practicality of purpose.

It’s no surprise that the average tenure of a private school head is 4.5 years. Public school principal tenure is about the same – 5 years for elementary school principals, 4.5 years for middle school principals and 3.5 years for high school principals.

One doesn’t need to be an organizational rocket scientist to know that :

  • A leader’s first year on the job is mostly about learning the culture and operations, building relationships, and determining what and how to change.
  • In the second year, school leaders might have ideas to make some changes. In the best-case scenario, the faculty joins to make changes at the end of the second year.
  • In the third year, change begins to take place.
  • In year four, if the change is going well – which is rare – real progress begins.

The data show that most school leaders are on their way out the door when real change is just beginning.

This cycle is repeated thousands and thousands of times at the expense of students and learning.

It doesn’t need to … Continue reading >>>

The Challenges We Face Looking for Opportunities!

The Challenges We Face Looking for Opportunities!

Every day must be an opportunity to grow as an individual and our future success must continue to influence our family, friends and colleagues. How can this be achieved? By having positive attitude and outlook, we deliver messages that people will receive and want to hear. My passion is always embracing people and looking for positive qualities that they have or are able to get. Sometimes simple expression or welcome goes long way. In its basic form, words of encouragement can create relationships and bonds that last lifetime. It can also change someone’s mindset towards us or how they approach us. With uncertainty always around the corner, sometimes great opportunities are disguised as challenges, but we never see opportunities because we focus on challenges, not opportunities.

I have never been person who avoids challenges and too often when we are faced with changes in our lives, we don’t want to progress. We spend so much time looking back and regretting decisions made or choices we have never made, we fail to embrace new opportunities or look for something better: new start, new start. Opportunities that we might ignore or take for granted because we think it might not be achieved. We do not believe we have the ability or talent to do the task at hand.

Although we often spend time reflecting on the past, uncertainty about the future must be our driving force. Our past successes and failures can shape our outlook on life, but adventures to grow and expand our experiences through new opportunities, new friends or locations must encourage us to succeed. The unknown must encourage our existence and inspire us to go forward! We don’t know what to expect in the future and we don’t know what we can achieve in the future.… Continue reading >>>

Globalization's Effect on Accounting Education

Globalization may be the course of action of integrating economies, societies and cultures via communication, transportation and trade. Massive companies and corporations now have to be mindful of not only the atmosphere and cultures within their region but throughout the nation and eventually across the planet. Many people don’t help globalization simply because they’re afraid that it will result in sweat shops and environmental degradation amongst many other adverse outcomes; even so, because globalization is inevitably becoming the societal norm, it is actually important that future business leaders are taught with this objective in thoughts. Whilst globalization is nearly impossible to prevent, with the correct education and practice, future small business leaders need to be in a position to minimize the preconceived destructive results of globalization from occurring. With that getting said, Globalization includes a huge influence on accounting education.

Education policies and practices is 1 issue that has been impacted by globalization. Far more specifically, several ideas are being reevaluated and taught differently. These terms involve but are certainly not restricted towards the following; culture, in port/export, international trade, foreign market entry, ethics, industry exchange rates, restrictions on trade, free trade laws, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Requirements), and GAAP (Frequently Accepted Accounting Principles). These words are now getting taught together with the ideology that students will develop to operate in multinational corporations in which they may be encouraged to know how countries worldwide conduct enterprise. Within the near future, if not contemporary, young scholars may also be required to become knowledgeable and in a position to differentiate the political, financial, and market systems of every nation; on the other hand, with globalization developing so quickly, it would not be a surprise if each country complied with a single set of laws and requirements inside the future. In … Continue reading >>>
